It’s that time of the year again – everyone is making their lists and breaking their resolutions just days into the New Year. I won’t lie, this is the first year, possibly ever, that I actually wrote down some resolutions that I wanted to make. You see, like many, I have been in a transitional phase of my life for quite some time now. To me, being in this phase has been a blessing – though I didn’t always view it that way. I was confused, anxious, and felt a mess. I knew I needed to change something and when better than to start as the new year approaches? I know some of you may be reading this like, “Wtf? New year, same me… nothing ever changes except my age,” – and I get it because that used to be me.
So how did I kick my bad habits and make the much-needed changes happen? Let me preface this by saying, I am not a book person. I outgrew pretending to read books on the beach when my schedule got so busy I could barely remember to make time to eat.
Here are three books that helped me get ready for the New Year and all of the changes I knew I needed to make:
7 Habits Of Highly Effective People allowed me to make changes with everything from the way I do business to the way I deal with ridding my life of toxic people.
Life-Changing Foods along with several other books by @MedicalMedium helped me to finally eat better, get healthier, clear my skin, and ever clear some of my other internal health issues.
Girl, Wash Your Face served as the straightforward pep-talk that helped me defeat every lie I have ever told myself that may have held me back in different times of my life.
Trust me, you will not be sorry if you make some time to read these books I have recommended. If you do pick them up, (and I hope you will), let me know what you think either on social or in the comments here.
